14 Nov

Well, Kubuntu got its chance on my notebook computer, and it came up short. No Tellico, no easy way for it to support my Wifi chip, and it is missing some of the applications I use all the time. So I have moved on.

I installed Mepis Linux 6.0 from a DVD. It has a lot more applications than Kubuntu, but I’m not sure if it will fill the bill, as it is also based on Ubuntu. It doesn’t have Tellico, either. Tellico is a must have for me, so I will see if I can compile it under Mepis.

I wish there were a distro out there that had as many applications in it as SuSE, because I am rapidly becoming disenchanted with Novell and its policies concerning Microsoft.
