I spent last evening re-installing the original openSUSE 10.1 on my notebook computer. I initially attempted to install the 10.1 upgrade, but there was a problem with the DVD. So I fell back and installed the original.
I then installed the Smart Package Manager and the rest of the evening was spent in a failed attempt to download 800 mb of update packages. I think this failed because the package web sites were extraordinarily busy. I will try this again tonight.
